From Madison Regatta Regarding 2013 Wrist Bands

MadisonMadison Regatta Incorporated is issuing an additional statement regarding the status of 2013 Admission wrist bands. The 2013 Madison Regatta racing portion of the event was cancelled July 2013, due to high water which covered the pit area. All other regatta events on the riverfront in Madison Indiana did take place as scheduled during the weeklong festival.

After 63 consecutive years racing Unlimited Hydroplanes in Madison, The 2013 event was the first to be cancelled and not rescheduled. A re-schedule was ruled out due to factors beyond the control on Madison Regatta Incorporated.  The H1 Unlimited group had additional events scheduled requiring teams to relocate to the West Coast after the July Detroit race, and then were scheduled to begin preparation for the Qatar event overseas.

Madison Regatta Incorporated has always had a no refund policy in place.  The policy is also stated on all admission wrist bands. Unfortunately, all Madison Regatta funds are depleted prior to the race to secure the infrastructure needed to stage the event making refunds impossible.  Madison Regatta Incorporated regrets the cancellation of last year’s event and  is making every effort to host exciting H1 Unlimited racing and provide a fun filled week of activities in Madison this coming July Fourth weekend.
