Oh Boy! Oberto Is Fastest In the Rain

Defending H1 Unlimited Seafair and National High Point Champion Steve David drove the 1 Oh Boy! Oberto to the top of the qualifying ladder for this weekend’s Albert Lee Appliance Cup with a speed of  152.229 under gray skies and a light rain on Seattle’s Lake Washington Friday Afternoon.

Jimmy Shane in the 5 Graham Trucking found himself third on the ladder after the first round of qualifying, but improved his speed to 148.837 in the second round to move ahead of Jon Zimmerman in the 9 Fox Plumbing presents Team RedDOT powered by Les Schwab who finished third at 147.501.

Then, on the last lap of the day, Kip Brown in the 95 Spirit of Qatar ran a lap at 149.031 to take the second spot and drop Shane and Zimmerman to third and fourth.

Saturday’s forecast is for sunnier skies for morning testing and the running of Heats 1A and 1B beginning 12:50 pm Seattle time.
