The Southern Cup returns to Guntersville June 6–8

Guntersville, AL – America’s fastest boats hit the water again in Guntersville as the 2025 Guntersville Lake HydroFest, presented by Pinnacle Peak Consulting, takes over Lake Guntersville from June 6 to 8, 2025. A premier event on the H1 Unlimited calendar, the Southern Cup promises an adrenaline-charged weekend on one of the sport’s most iconic race courses—proudly nicknamed “The South’s Fastest Water.”

Guntersville has long been a sacred place in hydroplane racing. In 1962, George Simon’s Miss U.S. I made history here by setting the straightaway world water speed record at 200.419 mph. Since then, champions past and present—like Bill Muncey, Buddy Byers, Corey Peabody, J. Michael Kelly, and Andrew Tate—have all made their mark on these historic waters.

Miss Madison Racing, the sport’s only community-owned team, arrives with a new pilot: Brandon Kennedy, while Jamie Nilsen is back at the helm of Miss FLAV-R-PAC, ready to make his mark once again.
