Driver Profile: Jon Zimmerman

Jon Zimmerman is a multiple World Record holder in APBA inboard racing who made the jump to Unlimiteds in 2010.

Jon drove the U-25 Superior Racing with Ken Muscatel before moving to the U-37 Miss Peters & May after JW Myer’s crash at the 2010 Detroit APBA Gold Cup. He finished the 2010 season in 7th place in the Driver’s High Points standings.

Zimmerman also substituted for Steve David at the 2011 Detroit APBA Gold Cup, driving the U-9 as a substitute for the U-1 Oh Boy! Oberto after David’s devastating crash in the final heat at the 2011 Madison Regatta.

Former APBA Presdident Mike Jones and wife Lori of Kent, Washington have owned and campaigned a number of Unlimiteds in the past 25 years.

Their greatest success was a victory in the 2001 Detroit APBA Gold Cup with current U-1 Oh Boy! Oberto Crew Chief Mike Hanson driving the U-9 Tubby’s Grilled Subs.
