(Madison, IN) Madison Regatta officials, after consultation with the National Weather Service Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Center and Markland Dam officials, have decided to modify the Madison Regatta race schedule, removing only the H1 Unlimited and Grand Prix West Hydroplane testing and qualifying sessions scheduled for Friday, July 3rd.

The recent heavy rains along the Ohio River basin have passed through Madison at a pace slower than anticipated which has put infrastructure set-up behind schedule. Madison Regatta president, Jeff Chandler stated, “we are most concerned about our race fans who in many cases are traveling great distances without the benefit of up-to-date information regarding our schedule”.

Madison Regatta officials have also determined, based on updated weather forecasts and river predictions, that the balance of the schedule will not be significantly impacted.
