U-1 in lane 2 timed the start perfectly and led the whole race. U-5 received a 1lap penalty for its actions at the start, and U-22 was penalized 1 lap for missing a buoy. U-27 was second, U-21 was third, U-5 was fourth, and U-22 was fifth.[Jul 25 2015, 10:47 PM] William Schneider: Thank you Sir. Most people thought it was to prevent a boat from going through the DMZ to gain a lane advantage. Paying a fine to get lane 1 was acceptable to some teams. U-22 hooked and missed a buoy and went into the DMZ. Although Mike Webster argued that it was a racing incident, not an intent to gain an advantage, he got a DSQ and 0 points.[Jul 25 2015, 11:42 PM] DAF: Mac, what is your impression of the wind – getting better, or???[Jul 25 2015, 11:43 PM] mclouse2015: The wind is supposed to be slowing down. There will be a 5 minute gun at 5:00pm for a 5:05 start.[Jul 25 2015, 11:53 PM] mclouse2015: After reviewing the end of Heat 1A, H1 gave U-9 a one lap penalty and a monetary fine for not leaving a right away for U-11 that was still in completion with U-7 for 5th place. The penalty moved U-9 to 4th place and moved U-100 up to 3rd.[Jul 25 2015, 11:54 PM] mclouse2015: Another 10 or 15 minute delay.[Jul 26 2015, 12:00 AM] mclouse2015: 10 to the 5 for 2A[Jul 26 2015, 12:06 AM] mclouse2015: The wind has come up again.
