Brian Perkins, driver of the 21 Miss Albert Lee Appliance, was part of a Seafair contingent that visited the families at Seattle’s Ronald McDonald House recently.

The visit was co-ordinated by Seafair’s Melissa Jurcan and included Miss Seafair Veronica Quintero, Naomi Stocks, Rachel Epperson, & Sophia Brockman from Seafair and Brian Deal of Albert Lee Appliance, sponsor of the Albert Lee Cup at Seafair on Seattle’s Lake Washington in August.

Miss Seafair -Veronica Quintero is always a hit with the kids.

Deal brought the kids each one of the company’s wooden hydros, which they will decorate in Albert Lee logos and colors using a sheet of stickers.

Jurcan says Perkins was a big hit with the kids, adding, “Brian did a great job of interacting with the young patients.  I could tell he was really affected by their positive spirit and the struggles many of them are facing.  Having him there was a real positive for the event.”

The popular driver watched racing videos on-line with the kids and called the experience very touching.

“These kids are so strong willed,” he said.  “It’s really inspirational to see how they are dealing with life threatening illnesses that no kid or family should have to deal with.”

“When you see what they are going through and how it affects the whole family, it makes you really glad they have this great facility where the family can all stay together during the child’s treatment,” Perkins concluded.

H1 is partnering with Seafair in a series of events like this one that include series drivers in appearances at local schools and Boys and Girls Clubs.
